Investing in leadership training for managers is essential for the success of any organization. It equips managers with the knowledge, skills, and abilities they need to lead their teams effectively, engage their employees, manage employee performance, solve problems, and enable succession planning.

Historically, it is the best engineer who is promoted to become a supervisor or manager.  We expect these new managers to be able to manage and lead teams when they haven’t been provided with necessary training or tools to be successful.  This is like asking a Level 1 engineer to work on a Level 3 ticket, without providing them with any additional training or support and expecting them to be successful.  Since talent acquisition and retention are 2023’s #1 concern for MSP leaders, organizations must ensure that they are building positive cultures that are desirable for acquiring and retaining highly sought after talent.

Leadership is a skill that can be learned and developed.  As MSP leaders looking to grow and scale your business, it is key to grow your managers.  As you develop and upskill your technical teams, you should also develop and upskill your management team. Having well trained managers and senior leaders ultimately leads to improved organizational performance, increased employee engagement, and better organizational outcomes.
