Day 3: Breakouts, the AI Accelerator, and a Night on the NYSE Floor

Wednesday, August 5 packed more into one day than most conferences fit into three. Breakouts opened the morning, the AI Accelerator carried the day into the evening, and the New York Stock Exchange trading floor closed the night.

Breakout Session 11 opened at 9:00 AM across all four tracks: Alexander Gertsburg and Brian Marshall on AI legal frameworks for MSPs, Mike Bloomfield and Paula Kurtzman on staffing in a tight market, Christopher M. Carter and Hannah Paige on the KPIs that actually tell you if an MSP is healthy, and Ketan Patel and Scott Bliss on pricing for profitability.

Breakout Session 12 followed at 9:50 AM: Vijay Akasapu on what autonomous investigation actually looks like inside an AI SOC, Kary Oberbrunner and Katherine Rubino on AI and intellectual property, Chris Groot on disaster recovery in 2030, and Tobias Musser with a field guide to open-source AI agents.

After the morning break, Chuck Canton, Michelle Accardi, Tobias Musser, and William Flannery took the stage for “Leveraging AI: The 4G Playbook,” a panel built around what actually moves an MSP from pilot to production.

At 11:25 AM, the AI Accelerator opened, and the room split into two tracks that ran through the afternoon.

Track 1, GTM & Gross Profit, led by Kam Kaila and Lee Cavellier, put owner-operators to work building a governance-as-a-service offer live in the room, then spent the afternoon on the core build and the harden-and-extend pass behind it.

Track 2, Executive, led by Sunny Kaila and Ed Pawlowski, worked through AI as an enterprise-value question, who owns the IP and whether it survives diligence, liability and insurance on the CFO’s balance sheet, the top five contract changes for the MSA and SOW, and the question every operator who has acquired another business is asking: five companies, five AI stacks, now what.

Both tracks wrapped by 4:00 PM with a 90-day plan in hand, not a worksheet.

The night belonged to the New York Stock Exchange. From 7:00 to 9:00 PM, the first 300 registrants traded the conference floor for the trading floor for a Great Gatsby closing party.

Build IT LIVE 2026 ran three days on one idea. AI is the easy part. What separates MSPs is whether they rebuild the team and the workflow around it. Building the team, the process, and the culture around it is. If this is the room you want to be in next year, planning for Build IT LIVE 2027 is already underway, and early bird registration opens at $199, the lowest rate of the year.
